What is an 'incoming mail server?'?

I have a macbook and I am trying to set up my mail account... (on Entourage and on Mail) I have trouble setting up my school account because it asks for my 'incoming mail sever'. It says Incoming mail server: Incoming Mail server type: (POP or IMAP) and Outgoing mail server: I don't know what to do.

If you use an email at your school you need to contact its IT departament to ask the correct settings yahoo settings are pop.mail.yahoo.com smtp.mail.yahoo.com
