How to set up an email account in outlook 2003?

How do i set up my verizon.net email account for outlook 2003?

• please help me, i am desperate!!!!!!!!!! i have tried looking up microsoft office's website & even tried googling it but i can't find the answer to this anywhere on the web, the web pages lists other email programs, such as msn, hotmail, yahoo, & concast, but not verizon!!!!!!!!!!! see i want to use my outlook 2003 program that i have install recently & use it to access my email & use it to send & receive messages when i am applying to jobs & such... but the problem is th atevery time i fill out my account info, the screens tells me that the connection failed & it won't connect my email no matter which format i try, i have tried all of them: http, pop3, & imap, & none of them will connect verizon at all!!!!!!!!! i dont know what else to do, i want to use outlook just like i use the other microsft office 2003 programs, i have paid money for it & i want to be able to use it like im supposed to!!!!!!!!!!!! im so confused, will someone please help me???? thank you so much, i really appreciate it...
