What's yahoo's POP or SMTP address?

What is yahoo's pop and smtp address?

  • I am trying to use yahoo as my outgoing mail-server but I do not know what address to use

  • Answer:

By using "YPOPs!" you can get Outlook to work with Yahoo! mail regular and Yahoo! mail beta too! These are just some of the useful features of Ypops: #1: Ypops has discussion forums for Windows, Linux, Mac and Solaris users, also a test forum to experiment with the features provided by the discussion forum. #2: It helps you to configure mail clients like outlook, outlook express, incredimail, netscape, firefox, thunderbird, opera, pegasus mail, lotus notes and eudora. #3: It helps you to handle "invalid ID or password" error with a pop-up dialog showing the error with hint how to solve it. #4: It handles Yahoo shortcuts introduction messages automatically so that login is successful. #5: There is an error dialog if an unexpected page pops up during login. When Ypops detects the error "your login session has expired", it gives you helpful hints how to solve the problem. #6: Ypops has a FAQ section, which is clearly marked as such and easily may be found. This is the program's HP: http://ypopsemail.com/

From the HELP page: "The ability to access Yahoo! Mail via a POP3 email client (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) is only available to customers of our premium Yahoo! Mail Plus service." That said, check this link for how to do it: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-35.html

If you want to use Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or other third party email clients to view your email you have 2 options. Subscribe to mail plus: http://billing.mail.yahoo.com/bm/Upgrades or download and install YPOPS http://ypopsemail.com/ then follow the directions for your version of outlook here, http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-35.html If you have trouble with set up, check the YPOPS installation page for alternate set up instructions. http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/ Click on YPOPS link on the left. Then Click on Configuring email clients towards the bottom. Choose the appropriate link for your mail client. I currently utilize version 2.0.0.4 of Thunderbird and version 0.8.3 of YPOPS (there is a more recent version of YPOPS if you are interested) and have no problems. Thumbs up are always appreciated if I have truly helped you!!
