Deleting messages permanantly on Outlook at work/ tips for not getting caught?
-
Hi Like most people, I use Outlook at work. And we are only supposed to use it for work related purposes. I recently found out that even after deleting items and clearing the deleted folder, when you click on Deleted Items, and go to Tools, there is a "recover deleted items" option that allows you to undelete deleted messages. Now I know Work say they have there ways to track your emails, as I have had private convosations with others, I have done it for years at various companies, but I guess my employers have never felt the need to check. I am not naive enough to believe simply deleting messages and clearing the deleted messages folder is sufficient to hide my tracks,... but are there any tips/ information to prevent this? what tricks do employers actually have and what tricks can i have up my sleeve to never get caught? Are the emails stored somewhere? is it on my harddrive or the network drive? any information would be good. Any comments saying I shouldnt be using email at work for non work purposes will be reported as abuse. As pretty much everyone does it and I cant stand pointless comments that are not constructive in any way. Thanks!

Answer:
Don't use Outlook for your personal email. Sign into Yahoo or the web site for the mail service. Mail is retained at the website. It will be downloaded to view and goes to the temp cache. You can always clear the cache after using the browser. IE has InPrivate Browsing that clears everything when done. Firefox has Private Browsing. ʎəɿʞɹɐq ̊ ͜͡● ̊
