How do i get my outbox to send?
-
I have a MacBook Pro and I have Microsoft Office installed on here (the 2011 version) which includes PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word. I can receive emails, but i cannot send them. When i was trying to send my twin brother a few good song about God that were very inspirational over email in an attachment file, it said it could not do this because the file was to big. so i simply sent him three emails with 2 songs a piece on each email. 2 of the 3 emails were successfully sent, but the third one did not work, so i gave up and deleted the email in the outbox. For some reason my email is not working correctly with the outbox. Even a simple email with no attachments is not possible. it just wont send normal emails and keeps making that beep sound when it fails. ***I keep receiving this message that says: Mail could not be received at this time The server for account "Charlie's New Email" returned the error "Logon failure: unknown username or bad password." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password? yes no If i click yes and enter my password which has not changed and is the same one i have been using, it fails to work and i get the exact same message. If I click no it just goes away and i am stuck at the same problem with my outbox full of messages not sending correctly and making that annoying "beep" sound. Can some expert help me please? this is very frustrating and it is getting closer to Final Exam time. the article was not helpful. The light is yellow on my account and i know it should be green. I then followed these instructions: What type of account do you have? (IMAP, POP, Exchange) Let's create a new identity and then add the email account. To create a new identity, follow these steps: Quit all applications. Hold down the Option key on the keyboard, and then click the Outlook icon in the dock. The Microsoft Database Utility will open. Note You can also access the Microsoft Database Utility by opening the Application folder and then opening the Microsoft Office 2011 folder. Open the Office folder, and then double-click Microsoft Database Utility.app. Click the plus [+] sign to add a new identity, and then type a name for the new identity. For example, type New identity. Quit the Microsoft Database Utility, and then restart Outlook. After the instructions failed i made the following comment: I have a exchange account. Well I tried what you told me and I didn’t know that it would wipe out my entire email. It deleted everything, which I was not expecting. Before freaking out, I remembered that for my college (Carson-Newman College) we had each gotten a Online Outlook Web App Account. Mine was [email protected]. I ended up researching how to switch that account over to my Outlook 2011 which was already on my Mac. I wanted to make it my primary account so I would not have to go online every time I need to check my email. My reaction for deleting everything on my Outlook 2011 account was not one of panic, because I knew I could just do the same thing. I tried to do the same thing and followed the same online instructions at http://help.outlook.com/en-US/140/gg471164.aspx When it worked the inbox worked, which was good. However, the outbox still wasn’t working. It went to a green light for about a few seconds then as I was trying to send a test email to my gmail account, it went yellow and I instantly got the message: Mail could not be received at this time The server for account "Charlie's New Email" returned the error "Logon failure: unknown username or bad password." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password? yes no If I click yes and enter my password, which has not changed and is the same one I have been using, it fails to work and I get the exact same message. If I click no it just goes away and I am stuck at the same problem with my outbox full of messages not sending correctly and making that annoying "beep" sound. So I tried entering my password for my Outlook Web Account which is the same email, however, this didn’t work either and now I am stuck at the same problem, although slightly worse because now all my old emails are gone as well as all my folders I had created. I clicked no and then clicked on my outbox which had my email test to my gmail account in it. I then got the message error: HTTP error. Access to the resource has not been authorized. Mail could not be sent. The message has been moved to your Drafts folder. Error Code: -18599 I still dont know what to do..
