How do you recover lost emails in the outlook express?

  • Outlook express asked to compact folders, and I pressed ok. Then, few months worth of emails were lost while compacting folders. Can I recover these emails?

You may be able to restore them from the recycle bin, if you haven't emptied it yet. Other than that, a system recovery to a previous time/state, or file recovery software.

Once they are lost, realistically they are gone for good If you remember any of the email senders or subjects try this. And a system recovery will not work as it deletes both addresses and emails To find e-mail messages in your message folders On the Edit menu, point to Find, and then click Message. Enter criteria in the search fields.
