Why does Outlook keep asking me for a password?

I keep getting my Outlook dialogue box popping up asking me for my Yahoo Network Password. Any reason why?

  • I have saved my login and password in my Outlook configuration. I am using pop.mail.yahoo.com as my mail server and checked the box to store the information. This has just started happening and it is very anoying. As you type in one window, the box appears and you wind up typing in the password field.

I have Yahoo Geocities Pro and use Outlook 2003. I found a solution here which seems to have solved the problem. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/mailplus/pop/pop-36.html It seems that Yahoo has changed their pop and smtp settings and didn't have the professionalism to actually send out an email before they changed the settings telling users that they would be changing the settings. How unprofessional!!! It really annoys me that I had to take an hour out of my busy work schedule to dig through the help site for a problem that could have been prevented if only they sent out an email. If anyone else is as annoyed as I am, I suggest letting them know. Here is their contact information: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/forms_index.html Anyway, this fix has worked for me.
