How do I access my work email from home?

How do i access my work microsoft outlook email from my home pc?

• i have set up an outlook email account at home but i don't know how to sync it so that incoming messages to my work email will also be received at home or so that i can access my work email from home. what do i do? PS: I run a small retail shop and i dont know much about computers.I don't know my URL or whatever i need as i have heard some people say.I had someone come in to set up my account for me when i first started some years back and we've lost contact so she can't help me now.Also i am on vacation now and i want to catch up on some important emails people said they've sent me.How do i do this since i am not at the office?

  You should have dealt with it before you went on vacation because you will need to copy some settings from your work computer. If one or both are laptops, get them side by side and open Outlook on both computers. Go to Tools > Email Accounts > Add a new email Account (View existing account on the old one) > follow through the wizard ensuring that the exact same information is on every page. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU SELECT ON BOTH COMPUTERS "LEAVE A COPY OF EMAIL ON THE SERVER". Otherwise the messages will only download to one computer and then not be available to the other. The other method is through the web if this is something your company is comfortable with. Its usually mail.domainname:xxxx (the x's are digits). Someone at work can give you that on the phone and then you won't need outlook, just do it on the internet for now.
