Can I/How can I use the Yahoo Extra Address feature when using Outlook 2010?
-
I have a primary Yahoo Mail Plus ( paid) account. In addition to my "normal" [email protected] address I also use the second "Yahoo! Mail Extra Address " feature of [email protected] which I use to send mail from my normal account simply by changing the "from" in a pulldown menu. All receved emails to the extraname address are received in my inbox. Question/issue: I would like to use Outlook 2010 as my email client to download email from my Yahoo Mail PLUS account. BUT I am uncertain how that affects the receive/send capabilities of my Extra address. Can it be done/used? If it will work I would like some help on how to set that up in Outlook 2010 (and if necessary-Yahoo) after the basic Yahoo Up/down settings). Thanks so much.

Answer:
I'll answer half your question. You have TWO email ADDRESSES in ONE email ACCOUNT. You're setting up the account in Outlook. Therefore whatever mail you normally receive in that account from the two addresses, will download into your Outlook Inbox. I'm not sure how you'll set up sending with the Extra Address from Outlook, or if it will set up automatically with a pulldown menu as well. My guess is that replies will still go automatically "From" the account that the message came in "To". Starting a completely new message from the Extra Address may not work in Outlook.
