How do you connect your Yahoo! account to Mozilla Thunderbird?

  • I decided to get Mozilla Thunderbird 'cause I thought I could get my Yahoo! mail that way, but I don't know how to connect the accounts to receive my mail. Anyone know how?

    To send and receive Yahoo Mail with any email program in your computer, Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora, and others, you first have to purchase Yahoo’s “Mail Plus”… You can find the path to “Mail Plus” with the “Options” link you can see when you’re logged into Yahoo Webmail. It only cost approx $20 a year to your credit card which is a deal, it also removes the advertisements in your Yahoo Web Mail screens. After purchasing you should see the instructions to setting up your email program, read each step as there are a couple of settings (user login etc) that are not the usual default settings of most email programs and internet service providers I’ve seen. After its setup your email program will only download messages in your main InBox viewed in Webmail. If you have folders in WebMail and want to download messages in those folders to your email program simply move those messages to your WebMail InBox then they will download next time you run your email program.
