What is the correct setting for my outgoing SSL?

Received error in outlook for sbcglobal mail account that my SSL and port setting for POP and SMTP are wrong?

  • I need to know what the default port numbers are and if I should be using an SSL encrypted connection?

    You can get this error if you select SSL and SBC does not use it for authentication. SBC should have a setup section on their web page. It will include things like if you need to use SSL, or more likely if you just have to authenticate for POP and SMTP. If they use special ports (not 25 and 110) they should be listed there.
