How do I set up an email account in Outlook 2007?

  • I need to be able to send and receive emails from Outlook 2007 Under account setup iI was asked for name, email address and password. I entered my name, my yahoo email address but under the password block, there is a note that says: "Type the password your internet service provider has given you" So instead of using my yahoo password i used the password that was provided by my ISP and clicked next. Next a little box pop up asking me to type my user name and passport again. Then there is another box saying: " cannot log on to server" Could I be doing something completely wrong?

The entries are as follows POP3 - pop.mail.yahoo.com SMTP - smtp.mail.yahoo.com Email address - the one from Yahoo Password - Yahoo password Your ISP usually gives a free email account. To use that one you would have to contact your ISP. ✩

If you are using free yahoo email, you cannot use outlook. You have to have a paid yahoo email account for it to work.
