What is Yahoo.com's email server address?

Server rejected sender's email address?

  • When I attempt to send email from my laptop running Windows Live Mail, the following error occurs: "Message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was (my email address)". The server error listed is 530 (0x800CCC78) - authentication required. I'm attempting to setup email from yahoo as a feed through Windows Live Mail. The server designations suggested by my ISP are incomming server: pop.mail.yahoo.com (port is 110). The outgoing server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port is 25)

  • Answer:

You're using the wrong server settings. You need to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus and use these settings: Incoming mail server settings POP server: pop.mail.yahoo.com Use SSL Port: 995 Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com Use SSL Port: 465 Use authentication Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@domain.com", for example, “jo.bloggs”) Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (for example, [email protected]) Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password
