How can I change the default Windows Mail?

How can i change from outlook express to yahoo being my outgoing mail default?

  • I have roadrunner through time warner cable and I want to change my outgoing mail default from outlook express to yahoo mail. i have windows xp for operating system. any suggestions?

  • Answer:

    It is very simple . you can edit it in the browser settings. If you use IE . Then open Tools-->Internet options-->programs---->There you can view the option email select the yahoo or outlook from dropdown menu . That is all you can find the options to change the defaults for other programes too.

To make Yahoo! Mail the default email application for your computer, click Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Programs tab (or Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab) > under E-mail click the down arrow and select Yahoo! Mail > click Apply and OK. If Yahoo! Mail isn't listed as a default email option, installing Yahoo! Messenger (install everything that comes with it, don't un-check anything), will add Yahoo! Mail to the list of email options, and if you don't want it, uninstall it ( it will leave Yahoo! as an email option ). You can download Yahoo! Messenger here: http://messenger.yahoo.com/

do a goggle search for make yahoo default mail, there is a very small down load, thats how i did mine, sometimes its hard to find but you will.

Click on START, then SET PROGRAM ACCESS AND DEFAULTS, then CUSTOM and choose "existing email". UNCHECK/DISABLE the other choices.
