How do you set up Outlook Express to use yahoo as the server?
-
Is Yahoo a POP3 or IMAP or HTTP and is it "mail.yahoo.com" or www.yahoo.com or what?
-
Answer:
In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird, with Yahoo Mail you need to pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. When you do you can set the incoming server to pop.mail.yahoo.com and the outgoing server to smtp.mail.yahoo.com. As an alternative there is an add on called YPOPS that you can download and try. ✩

The servers are there, but you wont be able to access them unless you upgrade to yahoo mail plus, which is $20.00 per year. This allows you the POP 3 access. If you add the server info without paying, your acct will error out each time and never download your messages. I actually use Outlook 2007 for my yahoo email, which is my personal email.
