How should I setup Outlook to access my Yahoo mail?

Having problems with Microsoft Outlook 2002 send and receive from yahoo email account.?

  • I keep receiving this error when trying to send and receive my emails from my Yahoo email account: task 'pop.mail.yahoo.com - Sending and Receiving' report error (0x8004060C) : 'Unknown Error 0x8004060c' I have researched every avenue I know to solve this problem. I had no problems doing this earlier this month, but now it keeps giving me this error. Does anyone have an idea what might have gone wrong? I have made no changes to my settings. I was gone two weeks and now it has gone crazy. I checked to see if I was still setup on my account to still access my Yahoo email through Microsoft Outlook 2002 and it was still active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem, so I went back through the set-up steps to make sure all the settings were correct. Here is the help link... http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/ Under the heading 'POP3 Email Client Settings', choose the email program you are using and follow the instructions. Pay particular attention to the incoming and outgoing server addresses. I found I had to call my local ISP to get their outgoing server address because the one recommended by Yahoo would not work. My ISP gave me an IP number (something like 123.456.78.90) and entered it instead of the Yahoo smtp address. It worked like a charm.
