How do a set up an e-mail alert on my PC?

  • I would like to have some alarm that pops up in my PC when I get an e-mail, so I am not always having to check for mail. How do I set that up? Is there something like that?

That's up to your email client. If you have Yahoo Messenger up (running in the background), it will notify you that you've gotten new mail.

WIthin Outlook Express or Outlook you can set up rules. Use the rules wizard. rules can display pop ups, play a sound, delete email if its from a particular person.

you can configure your copy of outlook to give a sound notification when some new mail arrives...to do so...go to tools>>options>>click on the email options button...then press on the Advanced email options....then under "when new items arrive on my inbox" frame...select play a sound and another visual notification you want...
