Yahoo! Mail App For Blackberry?

Yahoo! Mail setting for Android mail app?

  • For HTC Hero with Android operating system. This was working until 20 Jun 11. Has Yahoo! done anything to prevent the built-in Mail app no longer work? The Yahoo! Mail app is fine except it used more battery power. The settings I'm using are: Incoming settings Email address: [email protected] Username: [email protected] Password: ****** IMAP server: android.imap.mail.yahoo.com Security type: SSL Server port: 993 Outgoing server settings [X] Login required Username: [email protected] Password: ****** SMTP server: android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com Security type: SSL Server port: 465

  • Answer:

I had the same problem for the last week but today it is working again, although my Sent folder remains empty. So I suggest everyone try again. I have to assume that Yahoo have fixed an issue on their servers. HTC Desire, Android v2.2

Under IMAP server: remove "android." Under SMTP server: remove "android." see the website listed below. .................Nevermind, this did not fix the problem!

Same problem on HTC Incredible 2, after alot of wasted time I couldnt get to work with IMAP settings I found a work arround to be able to use POP instead without yahoo plus. Sign in to your email, on the top where it says "hi (your email)" left click and click account in menu. It asked me to login again and took me to account info. scroll down and click "Set language, site, and time zone" set regional site as "Yahoo asia" and when you click on anything else it asks you to save, save. Now you can go into mail options and "pop and fowarding". Now you can setup a yahoo account with the default pop settings!!! and Yahoo mail works again on "mail app" !! : )
