How to receive a message from server?

I am unable to receive my external POP email. I get a message that the server is busy?

  • Others using the same email server have no problem.

  • Answer:

I got the same error and also use multiple pop accounts into yahoo. Nothing changed and one of them just started working again less than 1 hour ago. I had changed the pop to address from pop.server.com to plus.pop.mail.server.com on one of the accounts as suggested by some other users due to a Yahoo upgrade, but this account has not come back to life yet. It seems that many of us with mail plus and popping external mail into yahoo, are having problems because of nothing we've done. I'm hoping my other accounts will come back like the first one soon. I share the frustration that there is no way to communicate this to yahoo and get a response and corrective action - or at least an explanation with a time frame of when it will be back up and running properly! It's also frustrating that it gives an error message which is false with no further details or explanation. The error message may as well have been "The Moon is made of Cheese - please try again later!"

Same problem here. It's actually off and on for the last couple of days but right now it's showing busy even though it's not. Yahoo, help!

I have the same problem. Everything worked fine until 3 or 4 days ago. Reported it to yahoo, who put an engineer on it (right...) but bottom line, Yahoo, is that I won't be paying for your Mail Plus if I can't access my external pop mail. I can easily get my email through outlook express or other clients. The affected pop system is qwest.net

Absolutely having the same trouble and as a freelancer, this totally unacceptable. Why am I paying for a mail service that is NOT allowing me to access my external/webmail when I have been able to do so for 3 years now? This has been going on for over 3 days and is getting WORSE. I am losing emails and at this point, I am losing WORK. Please Yahoo! address this issue or revert back to whatever settings you had before. I talked to a support tech via live chat who was very nice but could offer NO solutions or any sort of time frame for when this massive problem will be fixed. That's insane. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I am having the same problem with Cox email. It seems to be a problem with the way Yahoo is retrieving email from remote pop servers. This seems to be an intermittent problem as sometimes I get my email and sometimes I don't. I use to be able to fix this problem by logging in with some other email client (Webmail by cox in my case) and deleting some of the email that was sitting in my in box. This seemed to remedy the problem but does not seem to be working to fix the problem currently.
