Why are my sent messages not saved to the sent folder?

Yahoo "Sent" items doesn't capture messages sent from Outlook?

  • Any idea why Yahoo doesn't capture and save messages sent from Outlook desktop client? Yahoo's POP service seems to offer only a fraction of a complete email solution: 1) Only email composed on the web interface is saved in the sent items folder (what if you need an email sent from your PC and you don't have access to your PC to search your Outlook files?) 2) Only Inbox items are forwarded via POP (what's the point of folders and filters on Yahoo if your PC client doesn't synch everything?) Unless I'm a real butthead, is it fair to say Yahoo POP service lacks an all-encompassing, web-based, email solution to synch everything on your PC mail client with your Yahoo web account--regardless of where messages originated--so you can access it anywhere, anytime, with or without your own PC? Does Gmail or any other service offer a complete solution?

  • Answer:

Yahoo would do this if you were using the paid version and patched your Outlook mail in thru Yahoo. They are completely different programmes; Outlook is on your computer and Yahoo is on the Net. So of course they don't interface unless you specify that. There is a way to do it all via Yahoo but you'll have to go to their information website and start from there. And as I say, that's the premium paid-for service, not the free one.
