Some emails are disappearing from Outlook 2010?

  • I'm experiencing problems with my outlook 2010 account at work. Some of my emails, both incoming and outgoing, are randomly disappearing. I do not archive my emails nor is it set on autoarchive seeing how majority of my read emails remain in my inbox and outbox. I see no correlation between the emails that disappear but it's does seem to be happening. It's very difficult to notice it happening because it may pertain to a conversation that ends but surely I wouldn't delete any work related exchanges. I noticed that some of the emails between a lengthy exchanges were missing when I was trying to refer back to some emails. Has anyone experienced similar problems or does anyone know how to resolve this problem? It's very frustrating to lose important work related emails so I am hoping that some outlook guru can help me out with this issue. Just for your information our emails are set on POP.

  • Answer:

I kind of have the same problem before. One day i just couldn't send out any email anymore. The send button wasn't responding. No email came in the whole day but the IT guy found plenty of email on the server. Then he came over and check. He said my .pst file (like a database for outlook) was too big and outlook can read and write to it. He use a .pst repair program to fix the .pst. I just delete half of the email afterward. No problem after that day
