Iphone yahoo email problems.

Yahoo email has not been working on my iPhone 4 since August 9, how do I get it back?

  • On August 9, I noticed my Yahoo Mail account on my iPhone stopped downloading new messages. I confirmed by logging into a web browser that my password and account were not compromised. I've been using the "new" yahoo mail since beta. Now it shows downloading messages, but very quickly stops and just shows how many unread messages as a message in my inbox view. So I deleted the Yahoo! mail account on my iphone and then added it back. When I added it back, it said that the account had been verified. The folders in my Yahoo account show up on my phone, but none of the mail in those folders or my inbox will appear. The iphone says "downloading 1 of 483" each time I refresh the mail, but I still get no email actually in my inbox, just the line that says "Load More Messages.... 17,715 messages total, 483 unread" (or whatever the current count is). But still no mail.... I've tried deleting the account and adding it back several times, including rebooting the iPhone in between attempts, but still no mail and the same situation. It seems to be connecting since it knows how much mail I have, but no actual mail appears..... Any thoughts? I've seen posts suggesting contacting help.yahoo.com, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what to do once navigating there. Anyone from yahoo monitoring this forum that can give me an answer?

  • Answer:

IT WOULD BE BEST TO GO BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS VERSION OF YAHOO! MAIL... To go back to YAHOO! MAIL CLASSIC... Turn off Javascript - you'll then be asked if you want to return to Mail Classic, click "yes". If you don't know how to turn off Javascript... For SAFARI: Open SETTINGS>click PREFERENCES>>click SECURITY>>Uncheck ENABLE JAVA and ENABLE JAVASCRIPT IMPORTANT:Remember to RE-ENABLE JAVA and JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work. For IE: Open TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS >> SECURITY. In security click "CUSTOM LEVEL" -> disable active scripting in the scripting section. IMPORTANT:Remember to turn JAVASCRIPTING back ON when you are back in Mail Classic because without it some mail functions won't work. For FIREFOX: Open TOOLS -> OPTIONS -> CONTENT, click on "DISABLE JAVASCRIPT". Now hit F5 to refresh the page while you are in Yahoo! email in order to switch back... In the options, click (PERMANENT) to switch back to YAHOO! Classic. DO NOT click the "ONE TIME ONLY" option. IMPORTANT: Turn JAVASCRIPT back ON once you have your "CLASSIC" account back. PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE IF THIS SOLUTION WORKS BY CLICKING BEST ANSWER..THANKS
