The icon for Yahoo Mail for my desktop?

After I uninstalled 8.1 version & installed 7.0 version of messenger my yahoo mail icon changed on desktop?

  • to a page looking format/shortcut. And when I double click it to get to my mail it gives me an error message of: RUNDLL: Error loading C:\\PROGRA~1\Yahoo!\Common\ymmapi.dll The specified module could not be found. When uninstalling 8.0 i also uninstalled the yahoo tool bar also! if that has anything to do with it! My messenger works fine but I would like to get to my yahoo mail from my desktop though !!! Not the hottest on computers here, so could you please help me with this problem. Thanks so much.

    Yahoo is currently upgrading (to exactly what no one knows) plus at the weekends yahoo can not handle the traffic hence the whole system goes tit's up . yahoo are exspected to have this issue resolved in 72 hrs just in time for it to fook up everyones weekend again . Yahoo is currently also undergoing management re-structering and it appears that Curly,Larry and Moe will shortly be replaced on the board by either the Marx brothers or Bart Simpson ( although rumour abound that Bart will take the AOL job as they are even more fooked up ), ty. well... you COULD delete the mail desktop icon and make a new one... orrrr.... you can just go on your browser and type in http://mail.yahoo.com OOORRR you can just make yahoo.com your homepage and access yahoo from there and in the process you can see new articles available for reading and news and such. hope i helped

you have to use the icon that applies to the acct your signing into. you can locate that from start, programs, look for yahoo mail, and pull the icon out to the desktop, or type in search, type in yahoo mail and locate the icon from there. you can either drag it onto your desktop, or copy and paste to the desktop and it will appear as a shortcut

go to mail.yahoo.com and sign in. when you have signed into it click on file, highlight send, and then click on shortcut to desktop. if you go to your desktop there will be an icon on it. move it anywhere you want and if you double click on it, it will take you to your yahoo! mail.
