Why am I unable to open some links in Internet Explorer?

Since upgrading my Yahoo browser to Internet Explorer 7, my computer crashes when clicking on links(Mail-etc)?

  • My computer is crashing for no reason. For example, after logging in, I will go to check my e-mail. I've had the Internet Explorer crash if I click on 'Inbox', the mail message itself, messages in Group postings, and even links to Profiles. Each time Internet Explorer crashes, I have to re-open it, and sign in again. I've tried to use System Restore (especially before the upgrade), but it's not working either. Message keeps stating 'restore incomplete / unable to create restore point'. These crashes are annoying!

  • Answer:

ie 7 just sucks. you should get mozilla firefox.

I had the same problem. this is what I did. Start Windows, or if it is running, shut Windows down, and then turn off the computer. Restart the computer. The computer begins processing a set of instructions known as the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS). What is displayed depends on the BIOS manufacturer. Some computers display a progress bar that refers to the word BIOS, while others may not display any indication that this process is happening. As soon as the BIOS has finished loading, begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. Continue to do so until the Windows Advanced Options menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again. Using the arrow keys on the keyboard, scroll to and select the Safe mode menu item, and then press Enter. You can should be able to restore your comp in safe mode

Hi, Safe mode has nothing to do with Yahoo mail glitch. Sorry. I found this in What's New In Mail and applies to both mail accounts: We’re wrapping up a few remaining compatibility issues between Yahoo! Mail Beta and the new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta, and we’ll open up our Beta to their Beta towards the end of this month. Folks on the bleeding edge, please sit tight! Mail is experiencing a glitch. I haven't found a fix for it yet In the mean-time inform Yahoo! of the problem: http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/mail/c... For those who can't get in at all try this as it seems to be working for a few. http://myyahoo.com Login on My Yahoo! page Select the link at top right to go to Yahoo!'s Home Page. Mouse over the Mail Icon under where it says (Hi, your Yahoo! id). You should get a drop down menu with your latest emails displayed. Select an email and click it. You then get to a new page about Shortcuts, but just select the button for Mail and it should take you to your Mail page. It wasn't getting redirected to the shortcuts page on some servers and not going to the mail page. Toll free 1-866-562-7219 customer service number at Yahoo! Ciao ___________________ This is also working for some: Click the "Options" link in the upper right of your Mail page. On the Options page, in the "Management" column, click on "General Preferences". Find the "Composing E-mails" section, "Mode:", and choose "Compose messages as plain text". Scroll to the bottom and click the "Save" button. Now try it. Can you Compose, Reply to a message or Forward? I hope some of this helps you until Yahoo gets on board again!
