How do you find someone who took my identity and created a yahoo address with my information?

  • Someone took my info off of myspace then created an email address in yahoo. We need to find this person and make them stop. I would like to know who it was, since they are sending out bad material to close people in my life.

  • Answer:

you need to go yahoo accounts and then ask them to back track this information and they have them cancel this for you. you need to explain what is going on and that someone has your information. you need to leave myspace along and never go back to that. cancel myspace account and never used this again

You must have done something to make them do that but there is a way to trace their computer to its operating adress but it is extremely difficult. It is similiar to the government tracing a phone call back to the original location were the call was made or when you call 911 it only takes seconds for them to get your home adress.

You can try contacting Yahoo! customer service. Other than that, just chalk it up to experience. Don't put so much information on the interent for people to steal. You make identity theft pretty easy. Also, I suggest you check your credit reports to make sure you don't have new credit cards that you didn't apply for. You can get it for free at this link once each year. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp
