How to set up the yahoo mail in outlook express?

Can anyone tell me how to set outlook express using Yahoo mail?

  • Can anyone tell me how to set outlook express using Yahoo mail?

  • Answer:

Do you mean set it so you can get Yahoo mail through Outlook Express? You can't get Outlook to go to Yahoo without mail forwarding through whatever provider you have with Outlook. As for getting your Yahoo mail to go to Outlook, Yahoo will only allow this, called POP3, if you subscribe to Yahoo! Mail by paying for more than basic service. Have fun!

You'll need to upgrade to Mail Plus to access Yahoo Mail on Outlook: http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com/

Hey Littlepeanut, I'm assuming you are already subscribed to Yahoo! Mail Plus. If not, you will need to do so. POP access is not available for free Yahoo! Mail accounts (except Canada). Here's where you can sign up for $19.99 a year. It's worth it. http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com The settings are as follows: POP server: pop.mail.yahoo.com PORT: 110 SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com PORT: 25 or 587 ACCOUNT/LOGIN: your Yahoo! ID PASSWORD: your case sensitive password You will need to enable SMTP authentication in order to send outgoing messages! Each POP mail client has a slightly different term for this, but basically it's the same thing. The mail client submits your login and password in base64 encoded clear text. Without this, you will NOT be able to send emails via SMTP.
