How can I clear Yahoo autocomplete option in the Yahoo search?

My yahoo mail search option does not function?

  • For the last two weeks, My Yahoo mail search option does not function. I have to locate important mails by going back page by page which is too tedious. Its almost impossible to continue with this account if it is not rectified. How do i resolve the problem. I read that this has affected other users as well and yahoo techies have managed to solve it. Kindly advise.

    Hundreds of users are having this problem. Some can search only 30 days; others can't search at all. Yahoo knows about the problem and says that their engineers will fix it. This happened in 2009 and lasted for 6 weeks. Notify help.yahoo.com

This won't help you much, but at least you will know others are suffering too. Since about 12/12/10 the search function does not find anything older than a few weeks. I have used the Yahoo chat line several times and keep being told that they are aware of the problem. When I suggest that it would be just common courtesy to issue a "status" report every week or so concerning their efforts to solve the problem, I get "thats a good idea", but I still have not seen any status reports. Incidentally, I am using the "plus" version not the free version. Since I have messages stored as far back as 2003, this problem is a real pain.
