How do you connect Outlook Express to Windows XP?

I am new to yahoo. I have DSL. How do I get my Outlook Express to connect to my mail box. I use Windows XP.?

  • Answer:

Easy. Open Outlook Express. Select 'Tools'. Select 'Accounts'. Select 'Mail' - 'Add Mail'. Fill in the name you want to be known by, ie your own name or a nickname. If you already have an e-mail address, then select that option and type it in. Your incoming server is a POP3, so type 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk' (if your are in uk). Outgoing server should be SMTP, so type 'smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk'. Next fill in account name as your yahoo e-mail name and your password whatever it is. Next finish. When you've written your e-mail select 'send' and 'ok' When you're on-line your mail is in your outbox ready to go. Hope that helps

Other answers

open outlook express, go to tools and click on accounts. on the right side click on add and this will walk you through the process. with your dsl packet you should have received the info for the pop address and other info to fill in the spaces as you go through. make sure you use the user name and password you initially set up with your provider.
