How to set up picture alerts when I have mail?

When I'm in Windows Live Messenger I no longer get E-Mail Alerts-Set Correctly-Any Suggestions?Thank You!?

When I am in Windows Live Messenger I no longer get alerts telling me that I have a new E-Mail and I need this feature as I am running my own business. I just looked at my number of alerts received and it was a big fat ZERO. Please DON"T TELL ME HOW TO SET IT UP. I know how to do it-Tools-Options-Alerts & Sounds-Display Alerts-Check all the alerts I want including "Display alert when e-mail is received"-Apply and OK. Please just tell me why it isn't working and how to fix the problem so I get the alerts. Thank You!

I'm not certain, but it may have something to do with the status you set. If you set yourself to "Busy", then I think I'm right in saying that Messenger stops the instant alerts you get. Give this a test by sending a couple of emails to yourself with different status settings and see if this solves your problem. Hope this helps.
