Why is my Yahoo Classic Mail running so slow?

Why does my Yahoo mail always say it is "running" slower than normal and prompt me to switch to Yahoo classic?

  • For the last two weeks my Yahoo Beta e-mail has not allowed me to forward or reply to e-mails without switching to Yahoo Classic e-mail. Can anyone explain this? I do not like the Yahoo Classic version. I have even installed Yahoo IE7 & Yahoo Tool Bar to try to fix the problem. It didn't work so uninstalled the programs even though I liked them.

  • Answer:

The New Yahoo Mail (formerly beta) takes a lot of processing power to run. If you have low memory, slow cpu, or a dial up connection it will not work. That is why they just updated Classic. They are keeping both. ℬ ℋ

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. I have been advised to use this site to view my mail, www.mail2web.com if all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?script=no click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.
