Go back to yahoo classic?

Can I go back to Yahoo Mail Classic?

  • I HATE this new Yahoo Mail it put me on!! It's the newest one that just came out... It won't even let me send mail, delete my spam folder, and other easy things 99% of the time. It's like it freezes up. It was supposed to be "the fastest email", but thats a bunch of bull crap. I went to Yahoo help and it said that there is no button to switch back to Classic Mail anymore because they encourage us to use this new mail, but IT SUCKS!! Is there anyway I can go back to Classic?? Or at least back to the one that came after Classic.....Thanks!

  • Answer:

Yes there is a couple of work arounds to do this: Methods to Switch back to Classic Mail: First Method: Mozilla Browser - A •Safe Work Around• - in Firefox Click "Tools".....click "Options"......click "Content" Un-Check •Enable JavaScript• click OK. Log back in to Yahoo! Mail through Your Browser -- Switch to Classic Mail.... THEN RE-Enable your Java Script. 2nd.......... Internet Explorer Browser click "Tools"....Internet Options...Advanced Tab..Under Browsing-UN-check "enable Third Party Browser Extensions" Sign OUT of Yahoo & IE..THEN, Start a New Browser to Switch to Classic Mail. 3rd......... Lower your "Screen Display" Resolution: (click start>>Control Panel>>Display>>Settings Tab>now ♦SLIDE Screen Resolution Bar to Lowest Setting When The Screen Resolution is too Low for the "New Yahoo! Mail" (formerly Beta), A message appears asking "Do you want to switch to Mail Classic?" Click ►"Yes"...... Once Done,→ RE-Set your Screen Resolution. ♦IMPORTANT NOTE -- Do The Screen Resolution in Stages! A Screen Resolution less than the Original Setting causes Unstable Effects in the way web pages and formats appears. The Best of Luck To You..Ð

Oh MG! jUST SAME HAPPENS TO MY YAHOO AT GOOGLE CHROME. First I thought something got wrong with my Yahoo account and it freezed as you said. No send, forward or even create new mail! How could they allow do such crapy thing?! Thanks you i WILL TRY TO GET BACK TO CLASSIC VERSION AND HELP US GOD!

Andrew

I feel you, and you said my exact words!! It does freeze and it's crappy! I liked it better the way it was. It's so bad, I may even delete my account. It is definitely NOT better. I hate to be forced into change with no options. That is just not right. When you go to Yahoo Help, it states there that if you want to continue using classic you can, but they "recommend" that you upgrade. We didn't have a choice, and there is no option anywhere to go back to classic. I imagine that you were searching the same thing as me, which is how I found your comment. This is the wrost thing Yahoo has ever done!!

Classic is the ONLY "old" version left----that you can go back to The other---"All New" Yahoo Mail,--(which was the one between Classic and Beta)--has been eliminated and no longer exists. With a bit of trickery----This workaround should get you back to Classic: Just lower the page "resolution" to the point where it won't support the Beta version and you will be asked if you want to switch to Classic as the default (not the one time only) (start>control panel>"appearances and themes" >display>settings>>lower it and click OK). You "may" be required to restart your computer. THEN-----Once you've gone to and changed your mail page back to Classic---- go back to the control panel and return the page resolution to normal, (so things will continue to work smoothly).
