What stops my browser from going to Yahoo mail?

I have Yahoo Mail Plus with Personal Address. Why do I have to switch between mailboxes when using a browser?

  • It seems until recently, I was able to send and receive email to from and to my Personal address ([email protected]), while my Yahoo user account email was "hidden" from view. The new web client has a drop-down menu at the top that requires switching between the native Yahoo account and my Personal Address account - these are now two separate mailboxes. Suddenly, some mail is going into the Personal Address mailbox, while I still have all of my previous messages in the Yahoo native mailbox. I never had to worry about this before... there only seemed to be one mailbox in the past. How can I consolidate these mailboxes so that everything is together again? I have checked to make sure my Yahoo services are paid and current, including my domain name registration. Also, I haven't changed anything or have been doing anything new. This just started occuring yesterday.

  • Answer:

Something similar has happened to me: my Personal Address service has just stopped. This happened in November; like yours it's up-to-date in every respect. When I send test emails to my personal addresses they just disappear into the ether. Oddly enough though, very occasional spam gets through!! The only "help" I found was one page saying that Personal Addresses had been discontinued; I could sign up to a Small Business at ten times the cost!!! Incidentally, I am in the UK, and wonder if this is UK specific. I have contacted Hahoo Yelp many, many times, without any success. Better luck with yours.
