How does Foursquare return venues during search?

Why mail search does not return results?

  • There are certain messages in the inbox but search for them using any keyword does not return any. I refine, try other keywords in the message just to try if yahoo mail search will find it, but no results. I try to search the sender's emails entering his email address, but no results, when I try my address to search my sent items no results (which is obviously unreal unless the sent items would be empty) and so on, whatever I search for and I know there are those emails in those folders I search, no results... This definitely does not help: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aief3MdsyZ4czJpM3n0iKgJIzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20070428140006AA0YutH I might add that I am database programmer and not a computer beginner....

I'm thinking it must be a glitch, because that Yahoo! Mail search option is pretty basic stuff. By basic I mean it seems to be very simple to search for just about anything you know is in one of your emails. In fact, I don't think you have to even search particular folders, as I think it searches them all with each search. Key would be if the search option has always behaved in this way or if this problem is something new. We can only hope it's one of those ridiculous fixes that we just don't think of... much like some computer operation issues when rebooting often does the trick, but people don't think of it. So, assuming you are human, and at risk of you being offended, which isn't my intent, could it be something that simple? So here are a few of those types of suggestions Did you... ● refresh the page? ● close & open your browser, and re-sign into Yahoo! Mail? ● reboot Lastly, maybe it's just one of those server or Yahoo glitches that'll just fix itself. No expert here. I'm basically one of those desktop whizzes, but people call me for things you wouldn't believe, from computer problems to fixing the fax machine. I've learned a lot. I prefer a Mac, but since computers have been around the workplace, of course it's been pc's at work. If the search feature has always be ineffective, then I would be sure you have a problem and contact Yahoo. Good Luck... hope the problem gets resolved.

There is definitely a problem with Yahoo's email search. I can cite a number of search criteria that I have ran on my email (worldvision, ferguson, etc.) which pull up some, but not all of the matching messages. I have seen the issue in both Mail Classic and Mail Beta. (Thought that might be the problem) I have tried it with Internet Explorer 6 and 7. Same issue. Windows XP service pack 2, and Windows 2000. Basically, at this point, I believe it to be a coding problem on Yahoo's side. I noticed the issue about 2-3 weeks ago, but not sure how long it hasn't been working right.

I do not have an answer, but I can tell you that I have been on the phone to yahoo, and sent numerous emails, all to no avail. Please, if you find a remedy, post it. It's crucial for me because I keep so much order info in those emails. Such a pain, I can't find anything!!!
