How do I get the email alert?

How come everytime I get a text for email alert I get 2 - one that says 2/2 - yahoo.com?

  • I did the send mobile alert when certain people email me option that you can set up in yahoo mail. I had a Motorola V557 Cell phone, and got the 2 Text alert that says 2/2 - yahoo.com every once and awhile. Now that I have a Blackberry everythime I get a Text Alert for an email I set a rule for I get 2 - one that says 2/2 - yahoo.com with everyone! Does anyone know how I can make the second one that says 2/2 - yahoo.com stop?

    The text msg they're sending you is probably just a bit too large for one msg which is why it sends it in parts. There's nothing you can do about that aside from not getting the msgs at all.

I have the same issue. I had the occasional 2/2 - yahoo.com prior to December 2, but then all of a sudden I got it for every single alert. I have not changed phones. I've had the palm treo 680 for quite a while. I spent hours on the phone with yahoo and ATT for about 4 hours with no resolution or even a clue to why it is happening. I finally figured out that the second message is coming because the alert is too long (a text can only be 160 characters). For some reason the length of the alert increased. I know this because I compared old alerts to new alerts and the newer alerts (since the issue started) are longer in length. Yahoo claims a 100 character message is generated, but obviously this is not the case, when the 2/2 yahoo thing happens. I contacted customer care and am awaiting a response. I'm not holding my breath.
