What's wrong with my Yahoo! email account? Why does my Yahoo! message search only go back for two weeks now?

  • What's wrong with my Yahoo email account? The Yahoo! email search only goes back for two weeks now! I need to search for older messages! It used to go back to when I first opened my account! When I try to search for older emails, nothing comes up.

    Yahoo email search is definitely screwed up. I was looking for stuff that I knew came from last november, but the search only went back to may of 2008. This inability to search back just cropped up in the last few days. I thought it had to do with the new Yahoo email (BETA), but no, it affects classic email as well. It is a very disturbing development, because I have always relied on Yahoo to be able to find stuff using a standard search method.... now i have to go line by line back through hundreds of messages. What a pain! Also.. it doesnt matter whether i use firefox or explorer, the result is the same.

Yahoo and IE seem to be incompatible right now at medium to high cookie settings. You may access Yahoo Mail with a different browser, such as Firefox. Just type yahoo.mail.com in the address bar. I am able to get through with Firefox, and I hope you can too. Or, you can set your cookies at the lowest possible setting, and that should work too. It pisses me off to have to do this, but at least it will help you get your emails if you are browsing with Internet Explorer. You can always reset your cookies after accessing your email.
