Is there an alarm for new e-mails?

Yahoo Mail says there are new emails when there isn't?

• It's been going on for months now, but my yahoo homepage and toolbar will say I have (#) new emails, but when I click on my email, there's either less than or no new emails. The worst was when I had 12 new emails, and it said I had 45 new emails. Anyone know how to fix this? It's obnoxious to be checking your email every 15 minutes only to find out that there's actually no new emails

  This has been happening to many. When it was reported to Yahoo they said as long as you have checked for "unread mail" and have none in the inbox or folders, then it's a glitch. It has to clear on it's own at this time. They said they were trying to get it fixed, and then they upgraded the mail and it got worse. At one time it said I had hundreds, which I didn't have. It did clear on it's own. It's a pain until it clears.
