I only have a partial email address; the last word before @yahoo.

I received an email today stating that Yahoo needed pass word, ect.?

  • I received an email today stating that Yahoo was working on their web site and that I needed to send my name, address, ID, pass word. I had 2 weeks to respond and for those who did not send the info to them, they would loose their account ID, pass word, ect. Is this true and is Yahoo doing this. I was afraid that someone was trying to get important private info.

  • Answer:

If you have had an e-mail asking for your details be careful. This is a known phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.

Yes, someone IS trying to get personal info from you. No website would ever ask you to provide such details. No legitimate web site that is.

It's a scam. Delete the e-mail, and go on with your life.
