How to set up an email contact list?

My email has been hacked by my exboyfriend, he has all my contact info. after i change my email, can he hack ?

• the new one by seeing msgs I send to contacts? Here is why I ask. I knew someone was in my mail. I suspected him, but wasn't sure. I went to the library, without having to show I.d., and created an address totally unrelated to my name, bday, etc. I got home, used his phone and saw that my new library email was set as his default email. How?? And is there any way for me to have email privacy again? My contact list comes up on his phone and he is sending it somewhere. I confront, he says he barely knows how to make a call and maybe his phone is hacked as well. He has the gall to suggested that maybe our phones somehow, through proximity, traded information. He is much smarter than that, and if he thinks I'm not, that's reason enough to break up with him alone. My computers, phone, email, bank account, credit cards have all been compromised/used fraudulently. He always denies any involvement
