How do I set up a new second yahoo account for my son?

If I have an account and no credit card, how can I set up an e-mail account for my son who is a minor?

  • I am really frustrated with yahoo right now. not everyone has a credit card, and I wouldn't feel particularly comfortable with giving out the number even if I did. I asked my mother if we could use her credit card to set up this account, but she didn't feel comfortable with it either. She said that "it didn't sound right". I really want to set up this account for my son, though, and I think that my own account and previous age verification should be enough, shouldn't it? Also, is there a 1-800 number that I can call to talk to a representative on this matter? There should be.

  • Answer:

E-mail accounts DO NOT require a credit card! What in the world link are you using? Are you trying to get a super huge inbox size? That's the only thing I can think of that they would ask you for a credit card. You get a 1 GB inbox for free, but if you need more memory, then there is a charge. Go for the free one, man, and PUT THE CREDIT CARD AWAY!

I never needed a credit card to get an email account with yahoo........everything is free...and when it doesn't get free, then I'll go somewhere else. If you can't get on with yahoo for one reason or another, then try excite.com .

email accounts at yahoo are free unles you are buying a domain and then it costs 2.99 for the first year. just sign on as a doifferent user and tell him it's his account. he can set the password and what he wants to be called. a person can have several email accounts, all free from yahoo, google, msn etc. you don't need to pay for an email account unless you want to, and then usually just to limit spam. google has excellant anti-spam. i have accounts with six or seven servers and haven't been charged for any of them. all you need is a browser (like ie) and set it to the mail web site as the default page. then sign in and out.
