Why can't I access yahoo mail?

I cant sign in to Yahoo Mail but can sign into My Yahoo but equally cant access Mail from My Yahoo. Why?

  • Yahoo Mail has consistently failed to open in the last 1 week, and I find this frustrating

  • Answer:

The all-new Yahoo! Mail uses several XML features (they are complicated but trust us, they help you) in the IE browser and in order to use those, you need to have Active X enabled. Rest assured, there is no Active X download or installation of any kind. In order to utilize these special browser capabilities, please enable Active X with the following steps. To enable ActiveX for IE 6.x and 7.0 for Windows: you can do the following: Click on "Tools" menu in the browser. Select "Internet Options" from the pull-down menu." Click on the "Security" tab on the top portion. Click on the "Custom Level" button on the 'Internet' zone option. You will see a scroll-down menu with radio buttons. Select the 'Enable' radio button for the following menu choices: Run ActiveX Controls and Plugins Script ActiveX Controls Marked Safe for Scripting Click on the "Ok" button to exit and save. Click on the "Ok" button again to exit out of Internet Options menu. Now, exit your browser and restart! ActiveX should now be enabled. You're all set!

Maybe you're seeing that same Mail Beta login problem that many here have been complaining about. The work-around is to use the old classic Yahoo Mail until it is fixed. Log out of all Yahoo sites. Go to this site: http://us.f318.mail.yahoo.com/dc/landing That should put you into a login screen. Login, and it will then put you into the Beta introductory offer. Click "No thanks, remind me later" and that should get your account to revert back to Yahoo Mail "classic". As Yahoo will seemingly never admit to the problem, you should probably continue to monitor this Answers group and revert back to Beta only after you see all the complaints go away.
