How do I use Yahoo mail to send free text messages to mobile phones?

  • When I entered a phone number all I get is this error message: There was a problem: Either there is a syntax error in one of your address fields, or you have used a nickname which is not in your Address Book. Please enter a valid e-mail address (e.g., in the format [email protected]) or use a nickname from your Yahoo! Address Book. Your message has not been sent.

I came here looking for the same answer. It looks like they are still yet to implement the feature but they are creating buzz with it. My email box is still the same; not new that looks like they now support email to text messages. To me, they haven't gone live with the new feature yet!

I have been trying to figure out the same thing. I read two articles today on how Yahoo is now offering email-to-text messaging service, and they say to just enter the phone number in the address portion of the message. Unfortunately, I am getting the same error message you are.
