Windows mail will receive but will not SEND?

Can't send/receive messages from my gmail account, from Windows Live Mail?

  • Sending and receiving messages has been fine until recently. I use Windows Live Mail to check messages from 4 different email accounts. However all of them EXCEPT my gmail account, are working fine. It's my gmail that keeps displaying this error: "Unable to send or receive messages for the Gmail account. Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Could not download new messages from the IMAP server. Server Response: The server did not respond to this IMAP command before the connection was terminated. Server: 'imap.gmail.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F Protocol: IMAP Port: 993 Secure(SSL): Yes" Mind you, I haven't gone through to edit any settings, so this problem is something that just HAPPENED. I've gone through Google in hopes of finding a solution, but nothing's been able to help. Is this an error on their side, and should I just wait till it's fixed? Or is there something that I need to do myself? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

  • Answer:

Type these 3 keys together Ctrl+Shift+Delete and in the window that appears Tick the top box "Preserve Favourite website data"then click on Delete That will clear out your browser cache and is usually enough to fix most problems Last Option If they don't work then a full virus scan may be needed. Have a good day. R ó G é R
