How can I change the font for e-mail that I compose?

The option to spell check and change font etc on my 'compose message' page has disappeared. Help!?

• I have lost the option to spell check, change font, add stationery etc. on my BTinternet.com email address. I miss it terribly and would dearly love to have it back. A couple of weeks ago I was checking my mail but it was really slow. A caption popped up giving me the option to use basic mail mode in order to speed up (sorry-can't remember exact terminology) I jumped at the chance without really reading it too deeply (moment to regret-yet again) and it did help to speed up the downloading of my emails but it also changed the appearance of my mail page to a yucky grey background. I am now stuck with this horrid boring looking, dull and grey btyahoo email page but, most annoyingly, each time I compose a message I am unable to check for spellings or change the style/size/colour of my font. I am really unhappy with it but have absolutely no idea what to do. Please help me!!! I know nothing about computers but have checked every possible option to reset or change the settings on my yahoo mail account that I can think of and am now pleading with you good people to try and help me out.
