How do I delete a Yahoo e-mail account?

Does anyone know how to delete an e-mail account? The one I have is defective.?

You will no longer be able to sign in to any other parts of Yahoo! Once you delete your account, it goes into quarrantine and will be removed from the system after a few months. If you change your mind, you will not be able to recover any messages in your Yahoo! Mail account.

just leave it and get a new one it will delete after a few months

You might consider not deleting it & wait for Yahoo to delete it. Why? because it may start working properly again. That is if u have anything u want in that account. This link may or may not help u. If not, it'll at least show u others are having trouble with Y mail. Also, if u were using Y Beta mail, then switch back & that may do the trick too. I
