Is anyone else having problems with sending emails from hotmail to yahoo mail?
-
My sister has a yahoo mail address and I have a hotmail. But it keeps bouncing back when I send emails. I have just tested sending a mail from hotmail to my yahoo and it has not come through after 20 mins. (but it works almost immediately going the other way.) HAs anyone heard of any system problems?

Answer:
Yes! I set up a Yahoo account because my Hotmail would not send to Yahoo friends; it would often get sent and then the next day I would get a 'delayed message' and a 'sending failed message'. I now know that the problem is with Yahoo but see the long answer on this page. It is correspondence from Hotmail: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070708070531AAY0LzD&r=w&pa=AptqD2bwHTHf5uWPZqgwuKVKLjCJwgkO9bxL61le5cvMow--&paid=voted

This has been common for me for the past 12 months: email goes quickly from Y! to Hotmail and/or OE, but slowly from Hotmail and/or OE to Y!. I suspect it's a Yahoo problem since mail from other Y! accounts is often delayed (July 17th I got a message sent from a Y! account on June 7th.) Mesages/mail within Y!360 also gets delayed from time to time. I don't like Hotmail, but I've not noticed any mail delivery delay (thus far...)

I have both Yahoo and Hotmail accounts, so it's a pretty easy one to test out. Essentially, sending mail from Hotmail to Yahoo isn't working, sometimes the mail may appear after a day or so, mostly I eventually get a delivery failure notice, or nothing. But it can't just be a Yahoo problem, because friends with Hotmail accounts have failed to send mail to my Hotmail account. Time to contact Hotmail tech support, for all the good it will do.

I've not heard of any system problems that are out of the ordinary realm of Hotmail system problems. The thing is, Hotmail is just a sorry system from jump street and now MSN has decided to "help". But explain this to me; Why communicate with your sister from a Hotmail acct., anyway when you can do it from a yahoo acct and enjoy the additional benefit of IM? I send mail between my aol, gmail, hotmail and yahoo accounts on about a daily basis. Some days are good and some are exceptionally slow. But remember the term, GIGO. It applies to mail servers, too.

Try contacting hotmail, I'm sure they can give you a direct answer. I have hotmail and yahoo as well but don't seem to have that problem.

I'm on yahoo and am having the same problems. When people from hotmail email me, they get a message saying: This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE. Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed I have emailed yahoo asking them to figure this out and stop it, but as it is happening to others too, it must be a problem coming from hotmail
