How to receive message from another email address?

Why do people who "reply" to my email receive a message saying that my email address is incorrect?

  • Two problems recently: (1) I am receiving emails if I'm sent one--the problem is when someone tries to "reply" to my email. They get a message saying the address not bad. They also noticed there was an extra letter in my email address. (2) Along the same line, I sent an email from my work address (.gov) which is also a secondary address Yahoo has on my account. My daughter tried to "reply" and she said the message said the email address was not correct BUT it was referring to the Yahoo address. This is something new to me. NOTE: I get emails fine--it seems to be the replying that is the issue. This is a first for me.

    Double-check the settings for your account -that is the most likely problem ... (1) Click Options > Mail Options > Accounts > Yahoo Mail and verify that the Reply to address is correct. If not, there is a link to change it - at the right ... (2) Use the same method to verify your work address, which should be listed in the same place ...

You just need to correct the "reply to" line in your settings. Mail page>>options>>mail options>>Accounts (from the list on the left)>>then click on "Yahoo Mail".(middle of page under accounts) You will see a small link under the from line name, that says---change "reply to" setting. Click that link and erase everything showing on that line----AND leave it blank----then click "save changes" at the top of the page. .......................... By leaving it blank, you are instructing Yahoo to send ALL replies to your current account address . It's ONLY "necessary" to put an address there if you want replies going to a different address.
