Why cant i text some people over yahoo text messages?

over yahoo text message i cant text some people but other people i can but when it dosent work it says, It may be an invalid mobile number, formatted incorrectly, or no longer in service. but the # im texting does work

Answer:
For those that you are having a problem with, try this. Click "New" then in the "TO" space enter the cell number@theircarrier then type the message. This is the only way I do it.
