Why do I have incomplete results with Yahoo mail search?

Why is my search of my yahoo mail not returning any results?

  • I enter search terms that have previously returned many results in my mail. Now I get no results no matter what I enter. Why does the mail search no longer work? I use it all the time and am in real trouble without it.

    just spoken to them say they are trying to fix it but they do not have a date it may be done by so not much use can only suggest you keep trying plus going onto the customer service agents from time to time as lots of complaints may speed things up....

This is driving me mad 'cos I can no longer find emails from 2007 (or before) which I need to reference. However I have found that the search works for emails received/sent in the last month. Surely its not beyong the wit of Yahoo staff to devise a simple text search algoritm?!! But I guess the full search service is only going to be for Plus users. But then I refuse to go to Plus again until Yahoo stops putting GENUINE emails into the Junk Mail folder flagged as Spam.

I am getting this too and was just about to post a question asking the same thing. I always used to be able to search using just one word and I would get a list of emails containing that word - now I just get no results at all. Tried using advanced, tried switching between the classic and new versions - no difference. Am thinking of changing to gmail!!

Mail search works sporadicaly ) I managed to get it working yesterday at about 9 p.m. GMT+1, however once I tried search option today morning no results were displayed. I'm not sure if it dependns on time or on a particular server you logg on on to.

I'm glad someone has talked with Yahoo. This has been going on for months. And 'sporadic' is right.. The fixes I've seen mentioned haven't worked: clear cookies and internet temporary files, classic...

Yes, having the same problem the last couple of weeks and it's driving me mad. I sent a 'help' message to yahoo earlier and they got back to me just saying that they are looking in to it. So god only knows how long that will take.

Same with me, does anybody know who to contact to get an honest answer? Mailing Yahoo just gets a standard reply to look at the instructions!
