Why has my yahoo email stopped working on my Palm Pre Plus?

This is what I did to get my email to work on my Palm Pi xi, don't know if it will work on all phones but it worked on mine. 1. I removed my yahoo account from my phone 2. set up manual account with these settings MAIL TYPE IMAP INCOMING MAIL SERVER imap.mail.yahoo.com username: Use your full email address Password: your password you use for yahoo mail Encriyption: SSL Port #993 OUTGOING MAIL SERVER smtp.mail.yahoo.com Use Authenication: ON User Name: Use your full email address Password: your password you use for yahoo mail Encryption: SSL Port # 465 ROOT FOLDER I left this blank.

Same thing happened to me this morning (with Verizon). Someone did something to something and we all suffer. I changed to (without changing SSL setting) (IN) imap.mail.yahoo.com (OUT) smtp.mail.yahoo.com and the error message is gone (for now). Good Luck! PS - I'll take my palm pre plus over iPhone any day

If you turn off encryptions under login in setting it works. I would recommend using this only as a temporary fix, and then go back to using encryption. Seems like a lot of folks woke up to this problem today, including myself

I have no answers...the same problem happened to my Pre this morning. It was working up until a certain time then all of a sudden I checked my email and was unable to check it....I believe this is a Yahoo issue.

I had the same problem, I noticed the smtp and pop accts were wrong, I had to set mine to pop.att.yahoo.com and smtp.att.yahoo.com, not sure why they changed, but that worked for me! Hope this helps

I had the same issue. It began late last night for me and just a few minutes ago, I re-added my Yahoo email account and all is well...try it again now. I too much prefer my Pre to an iPhone or a Droid.

I wish I had an answer, too! I'm having the same problems with my Pam Pre on Sprint. Can't even find an email address for Yahoo Customer Care to ask for help and Palm charges for support after 90 days from purchase.

Sorry. No answers, but I am a Sprint customer and had the same thing happen this morning on my Palm Pre -- 5/20/10. It has worked like a champ up until now, but seems like something happened on the Yahoo end.
