WHY DO STORES GOTTA BE CLOSED ON EASTER for shopping?

Why are the large out of town stores in UK closed on Easter Sunday?

  • It's not fair, I want to go shopping after having dinner with my family. How dare they give the shop workers the day off when I want to go shopping? They get Christmas day off, isn't that enough for them? Surely they get paid enough to put up with unsocial working hours and 7 day a week opening.. don't they?

    I agree with you. Selfish people, don't they know there are some of us who wants to go shopping. They have no consideration , have they.:) [Joke]. I feel sorry for them, really i do, i was once one of those people who had to work during long-weekends, it is awful.:) Aiscchhh some people have no sense of humour.:)

it's because it's still classified as a holy day in the christian religion. you could say that same thing about eid....why do they get loads of time off? lifes not fair.....you cant always get what you want

You must live a really sad life if the only thing worrying today is that you can't go shopping. You obviously don't work in retail and have to put up with customers all the time, so for some of us it's nice to have an actual day off. Why don't you do something really unselfish today and feel good that you have done it. For example do something charitable or go to your local church and help out as they may appreciate it today.

uk is a chirstian democracy, the church influences the law, in this case to keep stores over a certain from opening on certain days. use your vote in the next election if there is a party wishing to seperate church from state and things could change
